Can 3rd gen calipers be swapped for 4th gen?

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt/3.27
Can 3rd gen calipers be swapped for 4th gen?
It's becoming aggravating trying to find all the parts needed to do a complete swap to PBR rear disc brakes. Does anyone know or has anyone ever swapped to 4th gen calipers on the rear? Do they fit? Would I have to use a 4th gen caliper bracket or can I use the 3rd gens I already have? Please help,I'm about ready to shelve this project!
