Planning LS1 Swap, but what about SFC's?

I am planning an LS1 swap into my convertible and of course I am gonna need SFC's I was wondering since I am going to be using a 4L60e and a different trans crossmember would I have any issues when it comes to what SFC's I can use. I am planning at the moment to use the Alston's and Spohns for SFC's I just want to make sure I can use both without much problems. Also all the parts are gonna put on all at the same time.

should have no problems, the crossmembers I've seen for the 4L60E mount the same as the one for a 700R4

The LS1 4L60E sits further back in the car then a std 700R4. We make a kit for this swap that we're just finishing the jigs for now. The crossmember will not clear Alston's without modifications, just an FYI.

We'll have just the crossmember, or the entire crossmember/adjustable torque arm set up. Should be available in about 2-3 weeks. It must be used with our LS1 swap motor mounts to guarantee fitment.

If you don't run AC you won't have to modify your stock k-member. A kit is in the works that will allow you to swap your stock thirdgen AC on to the LS1

Good stuff. I dont really plan on ever running AC in the car being a convertible its not entirly needed. That and I do plan on making the car a road race car, not competively but just for fun. So most of my concentration is going to be on suspension, I want the car to beable to handle almost every turn at a good rate of speed and without changing a thing go to the strip and run 11's. I know, crazy goals but thats what I want. I'll be looking forward to seeing the kit. Also I was wondering if anyone was ever planning on making a roll bar for the 3rd gen convertibles. Not only would it stiffen the car up more but it would also look great. I like what www.thirdgenresourse.com did and I thought they said they were planning on mass producing them. I would sure like one!

Hey fellow convertible owner! Thirdgenresource did not make a "roll bar" for verts (last I knew). They used a 4th gen light bar with modified fittings. Light bars "do not provide rollover protection". Well at least, thats what they have to say for liability reasons. Its a $400+ piece; might as well buy a 4-pt roll cage for $150 (but it wouldnt look at good ).

Best bar I've seen in a 3rd gen vert is below. Don't know though if it attaches like a ligh-bar or if its welded down to the floor.

Ummm....about your SFC desires. Cant say much about fitment, but I can say that the Alston's won't be enough. Got em on my ride now....welded in. They make the vert feel so much "straighter" and give great chassis stability, but I still have that annoying door/dash creak all the time. I'm going to install something similar to Spohn's setup soon to stop that.

I do plan on going with 2 Sub Frames, even if I have to modify them a bit to fit. What I am planning on doing is going to need to be stiff and I cant see one set of sub frame connectors on a convertible doing that. So hopefully all works well.

Cool. Hey..what'd you think about the "tweetr1" vert? I love the way that bar looks in the rear. Wish it belonged to a member here who could tell me how they did it.
