Brake help needed...

I have an 83 Trans Am with all stock brakes. Recently the pedal went spongy and the brake light started coming on occasionally. I pulled the wheels and the front looks fine, no leaks but the back wheel cylendars were both leaking so I replaced those and put in new brake shoes. After bleeding the brakes, starting with the pass rear, driver rear, pass front and then driver front, the pedal was still spongy and the light was still on so I figured the master cylendar was bad and replaced it and rebled the entire system. This still has not improved the pedal or turned off the light. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to try next???

Thanks,
Robyn

Have someone stand on the pedal and go over the entire system looking for leaks. Other than that, I dunno.

The rears were adjusted during the install, just a small amount of drag when putting the drums back on. Also it has been driven about 50 miles since then so the rear adjusters should have taken out any remaining slack.

Was the new master cylinder bench bled before installing? If not it could have air in it.

I bench bled it before installing, but it was my first time and it may be possible that it has air, but I kind of doubt it, may take it back off and try again and rebleed everything again.
