Handling suspension
Handling suspension
ok guys
first off I want to say hi and introduce myself, my name i Carl
and I am going to be a proud owner of an 89 TTA
so let me pose my first question here
there is this thing every year that is held of the Ultimate Street Car contest
and cars have to do everything basically when competing
I obviously want to win as many events as possible
and they do things from
braking
roadcourse time
drag racing
rwhp
gas mileage
comfort
style
show off etc
ok I came here to get suggestions on how to further improve handling on my TTA, I know it has the 1LE package and that stock it has like .88Gs lateral and brakes 60-0 in 139ft etc
but I was wondering what I can do to improve these and maybe atleast pull a 1.00G and maybe get the braking down to around the low 100fts if possible
the only thing I am not willing to change are the stock 16X8 rims
I rather it all suspension things
so if anyone has suggestions please help
I was thinking of basically getting everything from Spohn
including
adj torque arm
adj pan hard rod
adj steering box rod
adj lower control arms
the big rear sway bar they have
front sway bar
maybe the moog front end rebuild kit (or something better)
best shocks was thinking the koni Reds maybe
if there is anything else or better please suggest it
also is there anyway to upgrade my brakes without needing bigger rims?
thank you so much guys

Welcome aboard, Carl.
You already have 1LEs...that's a big plus. Since you don't want to change wheel size (16s), you may find yourself limited in brake choice. Spohn now offers a great Wilwood brake package, maybe you should look into that..here's the link. However, it doesn't fit under GTA wheels, which you may have.

If you keep the 1LE system, you could upgrade pads and rotors to help you out.
As far as the suspension goes, you are unwilling to change your wheels so again, you're limited. Better swaybars, poly bushings, lower the car, LCA relocation brackets, all will help you out in the handling area. I'm no Guru on the suspension "performance" area but I do know those upgrades will help you out.
