$300 for posi w/3.83 gears?? too much?

I've been searching the local boneyards (in MA near Springfield) and haven't been able to find a posi for my 83 camaro. I just today found one in a 84 trans-am, but the yard wants $300 for it. It seems a little high. what is the average posi rear end price?? how much (and where) did you guys get yours for?

I thought it was too high. where can I find a good, solid, rear end cheap? (sounds like an adult question) I want something that can bolt up easy and handle a stout 350, but I don't want to mess around with fabrication and racing equipment. I also don't trust the whole Ebay thingy. is there a reputable web site that deals in this?

I guess I'm better off waiting for my Summit catalog to come before I spend any money on salvage yard stuff. How hard and what tools are needed to install a slp posi and new gears? Will they fit in my existing rear end? And what are good street gears? I'm building this car for an upcoming hour commute, so I'm going to be spending alot of time on the highway, but I don't want to be pushed around by a Furd or a Rycer. 3.83's?

it will fit, but since u have 26 spline axles u need the newer ones. 1989+ 28 spline axles.
