I never knew anyone has done this! Was it hard? Worth it? How much did it cost? Drastic Improvement? What all is involved? Did all/most of the parts come from a C4? Thanks

Im sure it was very hard to do since there are no kits available.. Im SURE the car rides/handles completly different just due to the fact that there are CV's in the place of a SOLID axle. I think one guy on here paid somewhere around $10,000 (no thats NOT a typo) to have it installed. There another thread like this going on as we speak. Try using the search button for more info.

Sounds like someone got RIPPED on labor charges.... You can pick up the rear end (without the trailing arms), for 950, and I'm assuming the Trailing arms (used) wouldnt cost more than 150 a piece, so figure you'll spend 1250 for parts. $9,000 for installation sounds a bit outrageous. I've seen fairly detailed pictures of an installation, and it really doesnt look all that difficult. You'll need to fab up some mounts to hold the rear in place, and in the pictures I've seen, it looks like just a couple brackets welded to the frame. The mounting points for the trailing arms looked like the stock pieces, but I'm not sure where they were welded too. Then the only thing you'd have to worry about is the Torque Arm, which mounts on the opposite side. A BMR Trak Pak torque arm with a custom reversed mounting braket would probably do the trick!

This thread has a few links that I found with C4 rears for sale:
