Idler Arm Differences

The one on the right came off 84 Z-28 and is solid and screws together so it looks to be adjustable.
Left one came off of my 85 Firebird and has 1/8" play.

Whats up with this? if the first one is a factory design, it has 330,000kms on it. If so no wonder I had problems keeping in one lane.

I will be doing measurements to compare lenght/width on them after work.

I got the whole drive link including + gear box for $100 from a low milage car. the centerlink was no good, but that was the only good part on my car.

Are all V8 cars high-ratio steering box or is it an option?
