Backing plate, 1983 TA

Hello,

I have a 1983 TA with the rear drum brakes and front disk brakes. I have been doing some work on this car and one of the things I did was put new brake shoes on the rear brakes. I noticed while doing this that the backing plate on the passenger side had a lot of wear on it. I looked at Advance Auto Parts web site and they list a backing plate but then show it as not carried. Does anyone know of a place to get new backing plates for a 83 TA?

I have not checked really close. This plate is removable/replaceable, isn't it? I want to get some new emergency brake cable parts but fear the backing plate is so worn that proper brake action could be compromised if I don't do something about it fairly soon. If it was just a flat piece of steel I could cut out my own and grind it to shape and drill the needed holes, ect. The problem is it is not a flat plate. It has various contours that would be very difficult to duplicate without a mold/dye and a hydralic press.
