ACK! Help!
ACK! Help!
Okay here's the scoop. Over the last 2 months we've been building a 383 stroker for a 91 camaro Z. The car itself has been on jackstands for the majority of the 2 months. It's been sitting on its own tires now for 2 days, with the engine/tranny and everything back in the car.
It has yet to lower in the front end. It looks like it's launching like a bat out of hell.
Originally, the car was purchased with aftermarket lowering springs on it. We've since then gone back to stock springs. The spring swap actually took place 2-3 weekends ago. Of course with no weight on the shocks, they've been extended ever since the car was put in the air.
If we bounce on the car, it lowers with each bounce, but then goes back to the "launching" position. It's like the shocks are stuck...but they move.
1. Could the shocks be ruined after a prolonged period of no pressure being on them?
2. Could something be torqued down too much? If so, what?
3. Could the stock springs not be compressing?
4. Could it be because the swaybar was torqued down with the car in the air?
Any ideas and comments are appreciated.

my car had the launch look for about 2 weeks sitting in the garage after it was in the air for quite sometime....it took a while for it to go back to normal height.
hope this helps, not to mention that my car is in the air again so next spring it'll be the same thing all over again.

Yes we've rolled it back and forth. And jumped on it, and bounced on it, and whatever else we could do to make it try and sink to the ground. No matter what we do, it just pops back up.
The shock is totally extended such that you can barely see the inside of it.
So driving it around will fix it???
