Looking for some info.
I recently got an 89 IROCZ with a 5.7/350 from a friend for a sweet price. But it has alot of problems, Ive fixed most of them and im about ready to start with a good rebuild. I decided to start with everything under the car, since the front end had the most problems when I got it. Now, I have the Haynes book for the car, but im having trouble on a few things. So far ive decided (kinda) to go with the following things.
Idler Arm, Pitman Arm, Draglink, Inner/Outer Tie Rod Ends, Adjusting Sleeves, Lower ball joints from MOOG chassis parts. I was thinking of going with an Energy Suspension Hyper Flex bushing kit. (I got all of this out of the Summit catalog). My question is, what all else do I need to replace? Im a bit confused on the whole strut thing, as far as what I need to replace, and anything else on the front end, and rear suspension. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Welcome aboard...to the board...
Where are you at in SC? If you're in the Upstate, come to Rock Hill and meet up with us at Tubby's sometime.
I recommend doing the A-arm bushings and the motor mounts while it's all apart. If you have the cash, replace the springs (depending on mileage) and do all the rear components too: tubular panhard rod, tubular LCAs. Might want to look into the brakes too.

Hey, thanks for the info. I live in lower SC, down towards Aiken/Lexington/Columbia/Augusta (yeah, I live right in the middle of em all) I hardly ever see any IROCs around, bunch of RS's though. I am going to rebuild everything up under the car I think, as the money comes in. I was just wondering some of the best products to go with on suspension parts and stuff.

So dont even worry about the Pitman arm then. Cool deal, ive noticed that alot of front end kits dont even include a pitman arm.
