Wheel back too far? Suggestions?
Ok, my car was wrecked when I got it. I replaced all the panels and got the car drivable, The toe was WAY off so I got that fixed. My problem is, The passenger front wheel is back about an inch more then it should be. Since that time, I've swapped motors, all new exhaust, interior etc. The car isnt wearing out tires, but now I want to put 17s on my car and I dont think its gonna work? I had the car on a lift and it looks like its bent where the control arm bolts to the subframe, I dont know if anything else is messed up? So what would be your suggestion for this problem? When this spring break rolls around I am planning on swapping rears to take care of a bent axel from the same wreck, All new shocks etc, So Im thinking it would be a good time to tackle the front end. So short of taking it to a frame shop what are my options. I was planning on stealing a control arm from my 85 Z Parts car just in case the control arm is bent too. Any suggestions?

Yeah the K-member sounds like the culprit here. You can go stock out of a boneyard for cheap or get ambitious and spend the big bucks on a tubular setup. Either way the entire front suspension will have to come out, along with the motor mounts and probably a few other things I'm not aware of. Good luck!!
edit: If you get one out of a junkyard try to get a K-member with 2 good control arms still attached. That way you don't have to cut/grind/drill/hammer/torch the old control arm bolts out. I hear that's the biggest PITA in our front ends.
