Where to get Wonder bar and Strut brace.

I did the search and didnt really find any useful information such as where to buy a wonderbar and strut brace for my 91 camaro with a 305.I was wondering where i can buy an aftermarket wonderbar for a reasonable price and where i can buy a strut brace for my camaro...All the places i have looked only show it for a TPI.

With these upgrades to my suspension, can i be looking at a drastic change in my steering and control? All and any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Dont even bother with the wonder bar. you wont notice anything driving around town. Now as for the STB, get that you will notice an improvment in turning. there will be almost no body roll. If you really want the wonder bar then try searching boneyards but I heard they are a PITA to take out and put in.

I had the Hotchkis 2 pt STB and it worked awsome. I ditched it becuz it didnt fit after the HSR install. THe hood in the pic is sold and i now have a 4" harwood hood and yes it does create some visibility problems but I dont care as for the 4th gen dash, I just sold it and I am putting my stock dash back in with all Auto Meter gauges in the cluster.

PS if money is an issue with the 2 mods you want to do then get the STB first. the 2 pt hotchkis one coast about $150. you can try ebay and see comes up also.

Funny, when I put the wonderbar in my RS, I noticed a night a day differance. Especially when driving down the ruts on the highways arround here. The car wouldn't wander anymore in them. Now when I put the STB on, (the Jamex one), all it did for me was make the steering a lil bit easier. That was about it.

Then again too, I had just about every suspension mod, (minus a torque arm), done to the RS at the time when I put the wonderbar on. That might have made differance there.

is there any difference between a stock wonder bar and an aftermarket wonder bar?Do they both give the night and day difference or does the aftermarket one give you a better handling or is it because you can say you have an aftermarket wonder bar and not a stock one?

Well people say it doesn't matter stock vs. aftermarket. If I didn't get my stock one for 10 bucks outta a junk yard, I'd get a Spohn one in a heart beat. Mostly cause of the size. GM used, (what it looks to be)1/2" - 5/8th's " tublar steel with 1/8th inch mounting flanges. Does the job, yup. Spohns is 1.25" with 3/16th's mounting flanges. So yeah, there is more metal there for the forces to be directed through. So in theory, yup an aftermarket is better. As for the people that will bitch about the weight differance, so what, you won't notice a pound or two.

That auction is from Lon at Top-Down Solutions. You can also go straight to his web site http://www.top-downsolutions.com/ or simply click on the link at the top of this page. TDS parts are top notch.

As for the wonderbar making a huge difference in how the car handles, you probably won't notice a big change — but you should install a wonderbar.

The reason is that 3rd gen f-bodies can be prone to cracking the frame at the steering box. The wonderbar reinforces the front frame rails and prevents the frame form cracking due to stress.

It takes all of 10 to 20 minutes to install wonderbar.

TDS

Sup '91. TDS is located in Hacienda Heights, CA. Bout half an hour away from CV. I ordered a lot of stuff from Lon, great guy to deal with. Most of the stuff you order, you can just ask to pick up. Save yourself some $$$ on shipping and less time to wait for the parts.
Good luck, Efrain.

Does the edelbrock 3 point fit even with TBIs?I plan on making my own and should be under 50 bux...It will have 1" Dom tubing and poly urethane or heim joints at the ends.

where did u hear that. i got a TDS wonderbar and that made a huge difference. i also got the edelbrock stb. both helped my TBI car. and for installation, the wonderbar was the quickest installtion that had the most improvement. all i did was raise my car, get the impact gun, take off the 4 bolts for my front sway bar and the other two bolts to the side of it. put the bar inbetween and put the bolts back on. took about 5 minutes from the first bolt being unbolted to the last bolt being tightened.

It took me maybie 20 minutes to get it in, and thats only because my car is such a PITA to get up on ramps because its low, its not a hard thing to do at all unless maybie your bolts are really rusted on there or somthing like that.

I agree though it didn't make a whole lot of differance, I think I noticed it a little bit, but it could have been the suspention version of "plecebo horsepower". Then again my shocks, struts and springs are pretty shot, so that could have affected it.

What to second this. 3rd gen are know for starting to crack the frame around the steering box. installing the wonder bar help reinforce it and stopping this problem. my 2 cents

Or if your car isnt exactly true, so you have to move the holes on the wonderbar, and fix the hole that you crossthreaded beforehand .

I installed a stock wonderbar along with a 34mm front sway bar and new polyurethane bushings and endlinks. it took me a couple of hours because i hadn't really worked on a car before (and because it was hot outside and i took a couple of breaks).... not too hard. i definitly felt an improvement in steering response, and as mentioned in an above post, the car didnt seem to wander as much on the freeway. i think its a worthwhile mod.
