Hello guys my firebird has a vibration that can be felt throughout the whole car especially in the steering wheel. It seems to do it more when I'am on the interstate or slowing down the car. I have just put new tires on and new brakes,pads, lines and calipers. I have disk brakes on the front and drums on the back. Any info will help greatly! Thanks for your time!

What speeds does it occur at and does it get worse when you break. Did you get your wheels and tires properly balanced? Your break rotors could be out of balance as well. If it is at really high speeds (80+) it could be a failing tranny mount or your driveshaft.

 

Hey shifty thanks for the reply. It usually happens at about 70mph. And then as I go to get off the interstate and apply the brakes, the slower I get the car the more vibration I get until the car comes to a stop. I haven't had an aligment done on the car yet, you think that may help also? Thanks again!

 

Well I think you have 2 things causing your vibrations. I think you have a bad mount, or unbalanced tires and driveshaft for the high speed cruise vibration. As for the slower speed vibrations while braking would in most cases mean warped rotors. A warped rotor will shake the heck out of a car while braking. My 95 Z does it really bad but I can't afford new rotors yet.
