Rear Drum to LT1 Rear Disc Swap Questions

Ok I have the factory drums on my 84 still and came across a complete LT1 Rear Disc setup. I got the caliper rotors lines brackets and everything pulled off the LT1 rear. I have done some searching through prvious posts and not exactly sure if this is going to be a driect swap or not. I want to know if the backing plates from the LT1 will work and bolt up to my Drum rear or do I need to find a Backing plate for a 89-92 Rear Disc car. Also will the steel hard lines off the LT1 bolt up with little modification or do I again need a hard line setup from a 89-92 car. Last question is the drum e-brake setup and the LT1 disc e-brake setup compatible or do I need something to make this work because I want to have the e-brake working still. And help would be great.

It's gonna take a little work to get it to fit. First, you'll have to mod the ends of the axle flanges to get the plates to fit. I'm pretty sure the LT1 plates will fit (AndyZ28) got them to fit but I haven't done it yet. I have all the same parts to do it. Then you either have to replace the hard lines with the right ones for '89-92 cars or mod the ones you got since they will be too long for your 3rd gen rear...I'd just get new ones. Then you'll need new e-brake cables to fit your car...your drum cables will not work.

So it sounds like I might be better off trying to find a set of 89-92 Backing plates or get ready to do a lot of custom work. The brake lines I think with a little bending I should be ablet to make work from the sounds of it. Do I have to just find factory E-Brake cables for a 89-92 camaro with Rear Disc. If you know where I might be able to find any deals or where to look for backing plates and the E-Brake cables that would be great. Thanks Again

Ed thanks again for your help. I am still doing research and have come up with part #'s 10136853 LH side and 10136854 RH side for the backing plate bracket for the 10 bolt rear. I did come across 2 different articles on the setup. And for E-Brake cables I found 2 part #'s one 10164125 and the other 10083575. I know 2 of each are needed does anyone know which is correct for my application. I am going to stick with modifying the LT1 steel hardlines unless I come up with a part # for the factory 10 bolt in a 3rd gen

The right cable number is 10164125, and you'll obviously need two of them. The backing plate numbers you also listed are correct. I'd look to Classic Tube or Inline TUbe for new hard lines, both offer affordable sets.
