dumb question

Alright I bought some new Gabrial High Jacker air shocks, and I was starting to put them in, but I can't figure out how to get the other shocks out. I unbolted the bottom part off of the axle but I'm not sure how to disconnect the top part of the shock. Thanks.

You need to get the top part of the shocks from inside the car. You need to fold back the rear seats and pull up the carpet. You will see a white foam triangle piece on each side. Take that out and you will see the top of the shock mount. Just unscrew the bolt and the shock will drop out.

Yea it is really easy. Once you have the rear end in the air and the pumkin supported you can get the shocks and springs out in like 2 minutes.

When it comes to finding the location of the top of the rear shocks, you might as well line your birdcage with a Chilton manual. I have one and all it says is to remove the top nut, not a clue as to where you find the damn things! It took me a little while looking before I found them, but the manual wasn't any help at all.

wow easiest thing in the world to install them man. right behind your rear seats is where they sit and it will have a little foam pad over the top of the shock. i driled a little hole by the mounting area to run the lines back into the car. drilled a small hole in the rear plastic piece to run the filler valve. looks so nasty. cant even see the lines from under the car. i was very pleased with the install

i also have a set of 02 ws6 springs that add 2 inch lift to the rear alone. i jacked the hell out of the rear and it looks awesome. running 295/50/15s back there. ill get a picture of my lift up here as soon as the snow is gone and i can pull it out of the gurage. love lifting fbodies. beats the hell outta lowering them

dont do it man. youll have a lot of sidewall flex on the tires. i wouldnt go above a 245 maybe a 255. ive been in the chassy/tire business for years now and have seen a lot of bad things happen when people try to fit big tires on small wheels. i tried putting a 295 on a 15x7 wheel... didnt even attempt to drive it. you need a 15x8 minimum
