I need new tires pretty bad and i'd like to know how wide I can go with the stock 1988 Firebird Formula WS6 wheels. I also need to know what diameter they are. I'm gonna give Khumo Ecsta Supra 712's a try since they're pretty cheap and i've heard good things about em. I've considered gettin new rims but since i'm extremely broke i'm thinkin about keepin the WS6 rims and spending some time removing the clear coat and polishing them.

 

stock wheels are 16x8. ive successfully ran a 255/50 bfg drag radial. had the 712s 245/45, theyre good tires longevity wise, but youre not gonna hook

 

What i'm lookin for is a performance/value tire with good tread wear life. any suggestions?

Besides the two suggestions already for the Kumho Ecsta 712's...what else do you want

 

I've also heard good things about the Khumos, and they're very affordable, too. For performance AND value, it seems like a good choice.

And the stock tire size for those 16x8 rims is 245/50-16.

255-50 will fit at the rear, no problem!

BFG also makes a Radial T/A 265/50/16 that will fit in back as well. Yes, I know from experience.
