Wheel play after new ball joints and bearings, what else could it be?

I had a 1/2" of play when grabbing my passenger front wheel from top and bottom. First thing, I replaced the inner/outer wheels bearings all around.. same 1/2" play.

So, I replaced the balljoints in the control arm, as well as fresh bushings. Same 1/2" of play.

So what's left?? Normally, it's wheel bearings or balljoints...what else could be wrong that would cause the 1/2" of play ?

Could it be the rotor itself that houses the bearings/races??

Thanks for any ideas!

Did you put the right amount of preload on the bearings? I'd also check to see if one of the strut bolts is loose. The spindle isn't slotted but you can still wiggle it if one is really loose.
