anyone purchase energy suspension

what is your opinion of this brand?

more specifically, the tranny mount?

did u keep the plate in the install or did u leave the plate out? you know what im talking about if you bought this product.

i personally think it sucks , the bolt was toob ig for the crossmember to lign up correctly and it makes my tranny sit to high as well i believe.

i had the same problem with the bolts being to big so i took my dremel and "enlarged" the hole in the crossmember. i used the preload plate but the car isnt running yet so i have no reviews. i will say that the HYPERFLEX kit sucks. you pay more than what you can get each piece separately. waste of money...the kit that is.

I didn't use the plate. I think the tranny sits a bit higher--probably becuase the old rubber mount had collaspsed. At any rate, there is no adverse effects.

i used the prothane mount spohn sells.

even with that one u need to make the hole bigger in the stock crossmember, but it didnt have any plates to add or remove.

its a well made piece.

Same issue with Prothanes here, as well. I just used a metal file, the kind that's round on one side. You don't need to remove much to get the bolts to fit.

I run a ES tranny mount on my 4th gen and I love it. I used the included plate becasue it preloads the stuff inside the mount in order for it to work right. You will see two bumps on that mount and the plate will press those in when you bolt it down. I have heard some people say they can't get the plate to fit with 3rd and 4 gen crossmembers but I didn't have any problems at all. Without the plate you could get some bad vibrations.

I used the the prothane mount and it is a direct swap. No issues with a preload plate or anything like that. Mine fit fine through the hole too. Get the prothane one and save yourself a little trouble.

Agreed, no trouble at all with the Prothane aside from enlarging the bolt hole.
