steering box swap

would a box off of a 80 TA work on an 84 z28? also, how hard is it to remove and install a box?

Not a good swap. Even the base third gen box has a quicker ratio than the best Second Gen Box ( WS6 Trans-Am ).

Would be a backwards step, IMHO.

Best bet is to install a box out of a 3rd Gen IROC..... or a Trans-AM with a WS6 package or Formula package with 16" wheels.

Basically a bolt in.

I have one on my 89 IROC-Z it has the G-92 Pkg and has a 2.1 turns, Lock to Lock ratio. I believe that is the quickest ratio offered in a 3rd gen.
