Southside Machine kit... work with my SFCs?
I'm thinking of buying this kit from a guy, but this was his concern (I already have welded in SFC's):
The crossmember goes under the transmission holding it in place, the lift bars also connect to the crossmember. The straps connect to the liftbars to hold it around the axle. The gussets go on the end of the crossmember, then another pair of gussets go on the inside of the frame connectors and fit down over the crossmember.
SSM sold this product as a kit for a reason, because everything connects together and makes one working unit. SSM made 2 types of liftbars, a 1300 series and 2000 series. The 1300 series only came in kits for third gen camaros, you could not buy the liftbars alone. The 2000 series liftbars you could buy for third gen camaros alone. Mine is a 1300, which you had to buy as a kit. I have no idea why SSM decided to do this, but they did.
In this kit the crossmember connects to the connectors, the lift bars connect to the crossmember, then the lift bars connect to the rearend. So you see it all connects together into one working unit. My concern is if I do not give you the connectors, then how will the crossmember fit with your existing connectors, I'd hate to sell it to you minus the connectors then it not fit together. But you never know it might work, but it's just not a chance I would take if I were in your shoes.
So would it work? I don't think there is any way to get my sub frame connectors off, but I have always wanted this kit!
