Is this the way the car is supposed to ride? How can I tell if I need new shocks or struts?

I can feel virtually every bump in the road, any way to check the suspension im new to all this and just wanted to know if something needs replacing!

lol i got it for $25 from a kid that didnt want it anymore and i always thought they looked awesome, im just not sure if my car needs shocks or not, im trying to replace everything i can

did the plugs, wires, oil and filter, o2 sensor, fixed all the wiring, tail lights, ttops, hood, fender, tires all that, and this was next so i was just wondering

you know how you can tell, push your front or rear down as hard and quick as you can and if it moves like a big boat and keeps bouncing then you need em....trust me...LOL also if you pull up from your wheel well, and it stays up...LOL then you need em....LOL the "machanic" I bought mine from didn't take care of it and boy did it need em, and a whole left rear brake drum/pads/backing plate/wheel cylinder....arg....wtf man..LOL I STILL LOVE IT
