Braking Space

Hey Guys,

Got a problem w/ my braking system (I think). I have 3" of pedal movement before i actually feel ANY resistance in the pedal. Plus it makes a noise like a cheap air pump. I have changed all the brakes, bled them (in correct order twice), and i still have this 3" pedal space. Could this be somthing in the master cylinder? or mabey a mechanical adjustment? Just thaught i'd ask for idea's before i go tearing into the car. Thanks for any ideas!!

Sounds like the brake booster if you're getting that "whoosing" sound when you hit the brakes.
