rear shock tower brace

I was thinking of adapting a **** made one into my 3rd gen.
They looks so similar to the jamex bars we use to get use different ends. Would be nice to know some specs but search ebay for " strut bar" and you find tons n tons of them for $15-20.

[I bet anyone could buy one similar and make a jamex bar with new brackets.]

I was thinking of using the civic bar as it look like I could adapt the brackets ti fit on the shock towers and it would stand up in out of the way.

this is a search link, not a link to any ebay auction.

there's been several people post about it here, making one or modifying one to work.shouldn't be hard to do, but i'm not sure it's needed. try a search and see if you turn up anything, then post the link so if someone else does a search and finds this thread they'll have the link.

IMO putting on a rear strut tower brace with any lever points like the one pictured above is pointless. It will just allow your body to flex like it was before. Putting a solid one on is a cheap way to stiffen the body up some in replacement of an actual cage. This modification is by no means going to stiffen up the rear suspension mounting points mind you.

I like those kind better. A body still needs to flex but it stops independent flex. Why you see more n more of them like that. Call it controlled flex.

The Jamex STB I have is just like it.
