E brake drag

My E brake does nothing to stop or even hold my car on a flat road, so I tried to adjust it. My car has rear discs and the levers don't move back so the brakes drag after I release the E brake. My question is can I take off the nut on the other side and pull the pivot pin out to grease it without taking the whole caliper apart? Also will this solve my problem?
