Tire size?

What would be the best size tire to have on a 84 camaro. The most commun size I found is a 245/45/17. Just woundering if I could fit wider on the rear. And have no problems.

What wheels do you have, and what size tire is on it now?

with the right offset (or adapters) you can go 275/40-18,, they fit.. You can check the article on CHEVY magazine, several months ago thay explained a complete supension upgrade to a 3rd Gen camaro.. I got 245/45-17 on mine Camaro but I wish I had wider at the rear... Check my home page for pictures..

Stock wheels came in 15" and 16". The tires you two listed are for 17" and 18" wheels.

Now, with 245, those are standard for 16" wheels: 245/50/R16. The widest that will fit and still be safe would be 285/##/R16. However, I wouldn't go any higher than 275. Good luck finding anything in that size though, you can find a few in 255 and more in 265.

Personally, if you use good tires, you don't ahve to go so wide. Put on some BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW 245/50/R16 and you will see a difference.
