Brake pedal hardly moves

Over the last 2 weeks the car has been up on jack stands while I changed the head gaskets.. Got it back together and the engine runs great, but when I went to go for a test drive, the brakes now SUCK!! and they were fine before all this...

The brake pedal only goes about 1/3 the way down, and take a lot of effort. It's not like the brake pads even catch, I really have to think about stopping long before I start on the pedal...

Any thoughts?? I looked for a crushed line in the engine compartment where I was working and didn't see any..

Sounds like you have no power brake assist.

The vacuum line for the power brakes is disconnected, or plugged up somehow, or hooked to the wrong place.
