A little more info would help us help you.

What type of brakes?

When does it make the noise?

Does it change with vehicle speed or road vibrations?

What have you done thats worked and hasnt worked?

disc brake in the rear i adjusted the clip on it to tighten the rotor so theres no play, but it still does it. it does it full time except when brakes are applied

Check to make sure the wear indicator on the pads isnt hitting the rotor.

i had this same problem with my '79 t/a with disc brake rear and what i did was to tighten up the e-brake just a bit and it went away. but the ticking noise came back after a while when the brakes wore a bit. have you tried tighteneing the brake pad tabs that hold them to the caliper?

just my 2 cents.....;-)

You can temporarely get rid of the rattle by cinching the pad "tabs" and applying brakepad goop under them- But again only temp- the noise will return time and time and time again. Get used to it or get rid of the crappy design like I finally did after years of screwing with it- Good 'ol crappy Delco-Morraine calipers for ya, they work fine but rattle.

Next time you drive and go over a bumpy road, try pulling up the e brake slightly and see if the tick goes away. I have the same thing with mine and I will tighten the cable when I get my car back from the Doctors..

I was going to start a new post, but this one is close to my topic anyway. I've got the stock front discs, and rear drums. When going over little bumps on city streets, I'm getting a lot of clattering noise, and I think it's coming from the wheel area. Could this be the calipers on the discs, or is this likely a drum thing. Is it a problem, because the brakes work fine.
