Spring rates
While tinkering with both toys today, I noticed that the rear springs on both of them are NNL. But, the fronts on the Formy are BZW and on the 'vert are BZX. I've always felt, using the very scientific method of pushing down on the front fender and also by the way they feel while driving, that the 'vert felt like it had springs out of a Freightliner in the front. Does anybody know if the X's really are stiffer than the W's? And, if so, by how much; what the actual numbers are? Also, if they are, why would the General put stiffer springs in a car that feels like it's about to snap in two? BTW, I don't think the struts come into play here as the Formy has cheap Gabriels and the 'vert's got Car Quest house brand.
