I have an '86 SC, V8, carb. Do Edelbrock and/or BMR strut tower braces fit ok with the standard carb/air cleaner?

The only info and pics I've seen of them are on fuel injected engines.

Which one would fit better? I'm leaning toward BMR.

It is hard to beat the Edelbrock 3 pt TBI/Carb STB.

 

I've read a lot on here about the problems with strut mounts on 82-86 models compared to 87-92.

I see Spohn has some for sale for $100-something, but they look like the same ones that someone here posted pics of showing that they don't fit 86-under.

Anyone know? Does that affect which STB to buy as well?

I'm buying new struts for my 86, and I want to get the strut mounts at the same time, and the STB as well. I just want everything to fit right the first time.

 

Everything should fit fine. There is plenty of space on top of the strut mount area to place the brackets for the STB. I think I am still about 1/8" away from mine. Kinda hard to see in the pic though.
