Edelbroch 5227 Tower Brace

Just ordered an Edelbroch triangular Strut/Tower brace for my 84 L69 Trans Am; part # 5227. It'll be at my shop tomorrow. Anything I should know before putting it in?

Did it fit ok? I wasn't aware anyone made a stb for carb equipped cars. But I want one if it does.

The supplier (not edelbroch) claims that the part does fit on both carbed and TBI 82-92 firebirds, and edelbroch's instruction manual shows the part installed on a carbed firebird engine. The problem on my particular car ended up being the tubing on the air conditioning condensor (left engine bay) and the alternator (right engine bay. If I relocate the alternator and bend the tubing down for the AC, it'll work fine. I'm not gonna bother, so i sent it back.

I had one too and ending up selling it at a loss cause it wouldn't fit. I think the lastest Edelbrock catalog states it will fit carb cars except those with A/C. Guess they received enough angry phonecalls to finally state that small fact.
