Tires pick help

Ok, it's time to buy new tires, now I don't mind spending $500 or a bit more on tires but I'm looking for Great! tires that won't let me get all scared turning at 80mph, Now I don't want slicks, I want 'racing' tires, tires with mainly good steering/handling/cornering traction, and also for a daily driven car, the slicks I'll save for just the track.

Now please help me

Vaker,

Head over to http://www.corner-carvers.com/ and head into the forum, search for "best race tires". So much info there it hurts.

Check www.tirerack.com for tire comparsions and prices for various high performance tires. You sound like you have very little knowledge of tires, so do some research.

I paid $370 out-the-door for my Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 P245/50ZR16. Z/W-rated to like 163mph...like I'm ever gonna be going that fast. Anyways, the tread looks freaking awesome and they hold pretty well too, especially in wet weather. I wish they were a bit more sticky on the corners, but they are decent actually, and very cheaply priced. They are summer-only tires, so don't think about snow with them.

I was also looking at some Pirelli 6000/7000 Super Sport tires which looked pretty nice.

The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, does anyone know more about them, maybe you had them in the past?

I'm most likely going to get those tires in 245/50/16. They are 75 bucks each at Roadway whole sale tire

I haven't heard anything bad about the tire yet. Sounds like the best bang for the buck.

What size tire do you want?
