which rear swaybar to use?
I was in the junkyard today and scored a 34mm front and a 21 and a 24 mm rear swaybar. The 32/21 set came off the same car the 24mm was off an IROC. I plan on using them on my 91 RS project which I am using eibach prokit springs and KYB AGX shocks and struts on (I know KONI or Bilisten are better but I got them on the cheap so I cant complain
). My question is which rear sway bar would be the best to use. The car was built for the street /strip and to handle. I didnt build it to be the best for any one thing but to do it all well. I like to drive it agressively on the highway from time to time and maybe try my hand at some roadcourse driving. I dont usually push it to its limits but I would like to know if I did it would handle the best it can. I have tubular LCA's, ADJ panhard bar, BMR ADJ torque arm, and LCA relocation brackets on it as well.
thanx

I'd try the 32/24 combo first. That should be neutral coasting through corners, but maybe a bit loose (tail happy, oversteer) especially on the brakes. Try that and if it's too loose try the 34/24 combo. Anything with the 21 rear is going to understeer heavily.

I also recommend the 34/24 set as that's what my RS has now. A lot of Auto-X guys choose to run a smaller rear bar (IE-21mm or so) to help loosen up the rearend and keep the rear tires planted in the corners, and I assume this would hold true on the roadcourse as well. It's not that hard to swap a rear bar so play with them and see what you like. I have a 36/24 on my Iroc and 34/24 on my RS and both handle like mad but can get a bit loose in corners if it's a bit bumpy.

So what im gathering is the 21mm bar would be better for the everyday street driving where the roads can be less than smooth.
So if I decide to push it alittle hard on say an highway offramp where it could get a bit bumpy the 21mm would keep the rear tires planted. Then I would switch to the 24mm when I do any type of competitive driving on a course. I will test them both and see what happens but thanx for your input. Thats why I love this board. I ve learned tons about my third gens and probably would have made some bad choices along the way if I didnt have you fellow third gen enthusiats to learn from. Thanx doesnt seem quite enough for what Ive learned, but since Im broke from my 2 projects it'll have to do...lol

With your car and setup (Shocks, springs) I would definately use the 24 bar without SFC's, and the 21mm bar with SFC's.
