Steering and alignment problems
Basically my steering wheel has play in it and the front end has a mind of its own sometimes. I've adjusted the box so to take most of it out, but then the wheel doesn't return around corners. Now I've got it to a point where it will return most of the way by itself, but there is a LOT of play in the wheel. Very difficult to keep the car going straight down the road.
The play seems to be in the shaft above the ragjoint. The ragjoint has almost zero play in it. If I move the shaft around with my hand it clunks up and down at the part that goes into the firewall. Would the steering column probably need to be taken apart to fix this?
Also when getting my alignment done last time (because I put in new struts and balljoints) the mechanic said my camber was already adjusted to max negative and couldn't go any further. And that the drivers side was +1 and the passenger side was 0.
Can I get some strut mounts that give me more negative adjustment? I saw the billet ones on the Spohn page, are they any others for a more economical price?
Thanks for any suggestions guys.
