E-brake (rear disc)

I was trying to adjust my e-brake, WS6 w/ rear discs. It seems like the passenger side is working ok, pull the e-brake, the little spring on the back side compresses, but the drivers side it's seized, pulled, but apparently not enough to hold the car... If I hammer it backwards, it's impossible to pull the e-brake unless I hammer it closed at the same time.
I'm assuming I need a new e-brake cable on the right side, could it just on the caliper though? possible to just pull off the e-brake part, and replace that, or would I be looking at the entire caliper? Thanks

Have a look at this:

It's for Camaros, but there was a similar recall for Firebirds.

E-brakes were seized on my GTA... I'm in the process of rebuilding the calipers right now... but the e-brake cable operates a spring loaded lever. This lever rotates on a pin, and the lever pushes a rod, which forces the piston to close on the rotor. The lever on my brakes is rusted to the pin, so it can't rotate, thus, no e-brake. You may be able to take it apart and relubricate this mechanism without buying a new caliper.

I'm not sure how much different the calipers/e-brake mechanism are on your car from mine... mine is an 89.

hmm, I guess this no longer applies to me, as the car is so old, a recall probably wouldn't still be paid for right?
but I guess the info is helpful to fix the brakes, maybe i'll take a look at that later... Thanks -J

You could try, some dealers will still honor the warranty. If not, the kit is still available, it's a fairly simple matter to do it yourself.
