which shocks are better?

Which one of the Bilstein shocks gives a better all round ride...the HD or the Sports? if it helps i'm gonna be using hotchkis springs.

depends on the drop, you need to match correctly or the question is pointless. i haven't played with their springs but i do know the hd's are more suited with a 1.5" style drop more commonly associated with the eibach pro-kit.

the sport units are best for lowered vehicles beyond normal standards much like the 2" sportline drop eibach offers.

however, i played with my hd's using the air ride at the highest/lowest possible and still had great valving so if i were to pick i'd go hd.

Better than the Bilsteins are the KONIs.

nope....koni is only good if you want to fine tune for those that auto-x or go to the track. at the race track my 60's were better with the hd's then the best dial in i had with the yellow konis. granted it's all personal opinion i've had just about every suggested strut/shock setup here and while koni is much better then kyb and the rest it is second in comparison in my book. the qa1 is a much better strut with alot more adjustment if you want to go that route. the bilstein 12 way is the best but at $600 a strut it's rather expensive.

got my bilstein HD's on along with hotchkis springs, I also scored a set of 36/24mm bars of a '88 formula....those were bolted on with poly bushings, also redid the whole front end with moog parts and poly bushings....corvettes and cobras got nothin' on me except for their price stickers.

Koni Yellows are an all out street/ and mild roadrace shock, damper rate are set for this range.

Koni reds are strictly for street use/ daily semi-spirited driving.

Bilsteins are for spirited street driving, but not roadrace (too soft for raodrace, not enough low speed damper)

QA1's are vavled strictly for street/dragracing.
