Power steering helical bearing assembly - need help

Hi,
Due to oil leakage form output shaft I've decided to rebuild my power steering form Camaro Rs '89 (new seals, gaskets etc). Now the problem appears when I have to assemble main interior helical bearing. After few tries I gave-up. Does anybody know how to proper assembly all those fu...n 24 ***** into the bearing ? Once I did but then turn on one site was different then on another one (around 1 turn of steering wheel the difference). Next tries - some ***** fall out of the helical bearing on the extreme position !!!.
Some info, documentations links, photos would be extremely helpful

Put the parts in the refrigerator, wait for them to get cold; then pack the ***** in with some grease WITHOUT FIBERS to hold them in place as you assemble it.

Ok but is there any way where the ***** should be "stick" to the bearing ?. Those 24 ***** cover only part of this shaft with helix, so I suspect there should be any way how to put them. There should be any space between ***** ?
I'll try to put the ***** by those 2 holes link on the image http://chevy89.republika.pl/steering.jpg but I suppose it's not good idea ?.
Thanks for some more suggestion.
BTW: It's v. good idea with refrigerator thanks

It's a WHOLE LOT easier if you take all that stuff out of the housing before you try to assemble it. It's no wonder you're having trouble with it, I can't imagine putting one of those together that way.

Use the grease to stick the ***** into the worm gear as you screw the worm into the piston; push the ***** into the hole one at a time with some grease on them (a black one, then a silver one, then a black one, etc.) as you slowly screw the worm in; then fill and install the tubing guide with the last 4 ***** (I think it's 4 anyway...). The ***** should basically touch each other, all in a row.

Well I want to thanks for all your suggestions. Yesterday I successfully assembled it again. :lala:
Please let me share with you some important tips during assemble process:
1. Once you have all the stuff out of the housing clean it carefully.
2. Put the main helical shaft into the piston in way that you should see 2 holes in the middle of housing (this is necessary just for your assemble comfort, not for functioning)
3. Take the ball one by one with some grease end put it to the hole located closer site of input shaft. (looking from the top of the housing it's right hole). In the meantime be sure that ALL of the ***** going into helical bearing in the SAME LEFT DIRECTION. you should be able to put exactly 15 ***** until the first one appears on the second hole. (if all goes in the same direction during the process).
4. Take tubing guide and locate there THE REST 9 *****, which fill completely tubing. Use some grease in order to avoid fall out of the *****.
5. Please tubing in place (into 2 hols), screw it and then lock the main shaft by screwing thread shaft (this one with all seals stuff). Use appropriate torque to have good bearing clearance.
6. Have a beer and enjoy your rebuild power steering. I hope it help. Good luck !!!

If your power steering turns one site more then on another it means that one or few ***** get out of the bearing. - see p. 3. if you put 15 ***** and you DON'T SEE THEM ON BOTH HOLES start again the process.
