Installling a quick ratio steering gear; 2 Questions

Okay, guys...I finally got my hands on a quick ratio steering gear. I have cleaned it up, and I'm ready to install it, but I have two quick questions for you guys (Picture Attached):

1) There is an electrical connector attached to the high pressure side. What is this for? Is it neccessary? Should I just re-use the hose that I have on the car now--The box that I have now (SLOW ratio, I guess you'd call it) doesn't have one. Reference the top-left of the picture.

2) Do I need any lube anywhere? It came with the Pitman Arm attached. I'm talking about where the gear meshes with the column. Reference the bottom right of the picture.

The electrical connector thats on the high pressure side is switch that activates under high load (highest pressure) and feeds an input to the ECM to raise idle speed a little.. The last one I saw was on my 1988 V6 bird. My '91 GTA doesn't have one.. You can buy a p/s hose for a V8 car or just reuse the one you have now.
