shocks and springs, questions..

Ok its time for new shocks, I have a few questions, and I was hoping for some input.. I guess I should start by saying my ride is a daily driver, not a dragster..I put sense-a-tracks on several years ago, and they kinda have always sucked, just brutal on the spleen, a really rough ride..I hear everyone talking about lowering the chasis with aftermarket springs. I dont really want to lower the car, as I already scrape the driveway, and my stock springs are not sagging (yet)..I guess my question is how much will different springs change or impact the ride (smoothness)..I realize that Camaros are not the softest ride in town. I know I need new shocks and am simply wondering: (a) which shocks to get? (B) would new springs complement the ride of new shocks? (c) and if so, which springs would be best?
I have had this car since 93, and I guess Im getting a little old, and Im just hoping to soften the ride a bit...Me and my kidneys appreciate all input..Thanks guys, I love this site!

getting new shocks/springs is only gonna stiffen up the ride. if you like a soft ride, i'd reccomend just leaving what you have in.. it won't get any softer unless you get some worn springs from the junkyard or something, and you leave your older shocks/struts in...

what he said... when i replaced everything on my car, it didn't change anything, other than to stiffen it up, but i'm sure a full set of poly bushings had some effect on that as well. but springs and shocks didn't smooth anything - it's still a rough ride.

I just put kyb gr-2 shocks and struts and hotchkis lowering springs and 17's on mine and i think the ride feels basically the same maybe a tad on the rougher side. My only suggestion woulb be to invest in a nice set of adjustable shocks and struts so that you could adjust the softness and stiffness to your liking. If that doesn't work i'd suggest selling the car to me for cheap and buying something else. Just kidding.
