I hope there's not too much damage...
Driving my 89 GTA home last night on the highway... had to brake, and when I did I heard a bit of a grinding sound... got off the highway, and next light, the grinding sound was much louder, coming from the passenger rear wheel. Next light when I touched the brakes, the whole rear end started jerking around violently... just touching the brakes, and the whole would jerk around... by this time I wasn't far from home, so I limped it home without using the brakes at all (there was no traffic around, and some of the roads were country roads) and a buddy followed me home with 4 ways on. Part way home I heard more rattles, and then the last couple miles there was a constant grinding/rubbing sound.
When I got home I looked under the car with a flashlight (it was around 11 pm) and saw the problem: 1 OF THE 2 CALIPER MOUNTING BOLTS THAT HOLD THE REAR CALIPER TO THE REAR END, BROKE! The caliper was probably moving around... I won't know how much damage there is until I get a chance to take the wheel off, but it looks like the caliper may have rubbed against the inside of the rim... I hope the rim isn't buggered up too...
The real kicker is, last night was the last day my car was on the road. I'm taking it off for the winter, and last night I wanted to go for a nice drive since I won't be able to drive the car for the next 6 months or so... damn that sucks!
