How can i level my car out?

I got the eibach prokit and tokico adjustable shocks. They work great and i like them but the rear sits up alittle bit higher than i would like.

Can and should I cut a little bit of the coil off the rear springs? Just to get it to drop alittle bit more to even out the look or should I just keep it as it is?

Looks fine to me. I'd leave it alone if it was mine. In fact, that's about what my car looks like, as far as ride height. Gets just about level with a full tank of gas.

Don't forget, they will settle down over time.

Looks good to me! But if you want it lower, then go for it.

arent youre shocks adjustable if the back is too high set them one setting lower. or put the front up one setting...play with it see what happens....but yeah you might want to let it settle for a while. Looks great to me

The stance looks perfect to me and they will settle a bit. Drive on them for awhile before you decide to cut. I bet you will be happier in a few months after some driving. Also, shocks don't affect the ride height so don't worry about that.

LOL its not low enough for my tastes but its practical for the areas i drive in.

i just took out stock springs and put in the new ones. Reused the stock front rubber gaskets for front and just put in the rear ones. they are seated correctly cuz at first they werent, so up on jacks it went again, and i got it figured out.

LOL i kinda like it and will keep it the way it is now for awhile to see how the springs react to time and miles. LOL

Anyway, if i decide to go lower, would you recommend cutting the Prokit springs? How would that affect spring rate and ride? about another 1/2 to 3/4 inch would be about how much coil cut off?

i wouldn't cut springs, If you want it lower let them settle or buy new ones. Cutting springs in general is a bad thing, amature thing to do. If your gonna mess with your suspension (and your life), do it properly.

btw, i think your car looks great to me.

Well if you cut linear rate springs right then they would work, you'll just never know their exact rates (or if they are matched). Amature is when people cut them wrong and the springs get soft. Anyway, these Eibach springs are progressive rates, the coils are not even like linear rate springs. I wouldnt recommend cutting them, not even sure of the results. If you really dont like the stance I say just sell em and go with a different setup. I used to run the pro-kit on my 91Z, but like you, I didnt like the wheel gap in the rear. So I replaced them with a set of weight jacks and custom springs. Not only did I get to choose the rates I wanted, I can now adjust the ride height. I will soon be installing this setup on my 89 IROC (tokiko illuminas, weight jacks, custom springs).

How do you like the Tokiko's?

You could also go with the sportlines or another spring that sits a bit lower.

Just to clarify. Eibach Pro-kit springs are linear in the front, progressive in the rear.

yeah, the tokico adjustables are great. 5 settings. great handling combo with prokit. I have been messing with it for a while and found that the car likes it set at 2 in the rear and 2-3 in front for best ride and handling. I was running it with 3 up front and 4 in back and it was too stiff and rear end tends to fling out under hard cornering. (This nearly cost me my car one time LOL). I just softened it up a bit and so far, it handles better than ever.

Good product.

the wheel gap on my car is small enough that with full tank and me in it, it sits nice. hardly noticeable. Its growing on me. The slight rake stance LOL.

That pic is with new front tires and the old worn tires. Same brand tire but rear had like 20% tread on them. So it kinda makes the wheel look smaller cuz it is i guess LOL. i got it replaced and it looks real nice with all that extra tread LOL.

I am interested in that weight jack system. Might have to do a search for that sometime.

What about drag springs in the back? Will they make it sit lower but handle decent like prokit springs?

For height adjustment there are adjustable spacers available. Look on the AFCO racing web site (http://www.afcoracing.com)for 'adjustable spring spacer' (#20191). These units go on top of the spring and seat into the spring pocket.

A helical cut needs to be made (bench grinder works) to fit into the upper pocket correctly. I'll never go back to lowering springs, or cutting springs or anything else.

AFCO also has springs is various lengths and weights to taylor the ride and handling.

RBob.

put a hundred pounds of something in the trunk. If that doesn't bring it down enough, repeat
