Tire Questions
i'm looking at tires, and the treadwear number is a bit confusing...is the lower the number the stickier the tire is, and the higher the number the stiffer it is and the more solid it is??? i've been lookign and some are like 280, 420, 360...and also what about the other mumbojumbo, temperature A, traction A...what does that mean???

The treadwear rating is how long the tire will basically last. Every 100 increase is twice the wear resistence in rubber compound and is generally but not always a stiffer compound rubber.
ex 250 will last 2.5 times as long as a 100.
AA is the best WET traction rating, then A, B & C. Again, this is WET traction only.
A is the best resistence to temperature- meaning greatest resistence to overheating. C is worst.

well i want tires that won't leave a huge amount of rubber..because my friend has a SRT4 and his tires are pretty sticky, and just from trompin on it and putting a lot of force on the tires they wear down tramendously...so i want a tire that is not gonna slide out on me really easy, but i don't want a really sticky set that only lasts me like 6 months...

A few years back, I had a set of Dunlops on my IROC. It was like it was on rails, you could do "Bat-Turns" with it. But, they were quite soft and they wore out very quickly. Too quickly. Yeah, driving it was fun, but at $160 per tire, I want more than 2 years. The original gatorbacks lasted longer, but were noisey as all hell, and terrible on wet roads.
I think I might try the g-force T/As next.
If you *drive* your thirdgen, then you definitely should get only tires with at least a VR, if not a ZR speed rating, and get A ratings on both temperature and wet traction.
