Dropped Spindles

Dropped Spindles are now extinct - except for used.

After searching for the last six months for a pair of dropped spindles, and not finding any, I did come across the following information.

Eibach (and most every one else) ordered their Dropped Spindles from Bell Tech (Bell Tech part #2200 for 82-92 Camaro). Bell Tech Dropped spindles were produced at Superior Machine and Foundry in Los Angeles. At Superior the last pair, their only prototype pair, were cut by torch October, 2004 - because of lack of interest in the part and because they were very labor intensive to produce.
- end of an era-

Springs are all you really need to effectively lower a thirdgen.

Dropped Spindles

Dropped Springs do not give me the same suspension geometry as the dropped spindles. I wish the Dropped Spindles were still available. Thanks, Ed.

drop spindles would be easier to install than springs to.

Maybe if we could get 100 guys that wanted the Dropped Spindles for a mass order maybe Surperior would make a batch - maybe. Ed.

dropped spindles

Wow quite high, as they originally sold new for around $275 - If these are the only pair I can find I will take them though. It will take me about two/three months (with Christmas coming up) to save for them. If you still have them at that time (I hope) I will take them. Thanks, Ed.

PM me for further contacts, thanks.

Dropped Spindles

Another note on this subject - Does any one know if these dropped spindles can be modified for the LT1/C-5/C-6 Brake set-up? Or are we now getting into a strength factor at that point? Thanks, Ed.

lol... i actually paid 189 for them through summit when i bought them 6 years ago so yeah it's a bit high. i didn't/don't plan on selling them realistically and you shouldn't pay that much for them. call around, do some leg work as if it's really that important to you they can be made. especially if your going to go through the lengths of paying that much someone will make them. don't spend that much on a set though.

if you need help in having a set made after you do some research with it let me know and i'll see what i can get together for you out this way.

Dropped Spindles

I have searched and called every lead I could find without any results. I finally found the foundry that made them for Bell Tech, and they, Superior, earlier this month scrapped their only/last pattern for them. I did ask Superior what would be a price to make a set, and they refused. So I'm still searching - any help appreciated. Thanks, Ed.

find a handful of others in your boat. that or find a racing fabrication shop in your area. custom one off parts are regulars for these guys. if your willing to pay anything can be built. there is a reason they quit making them and mainly it was lack of interest which is understandable. if you want them bad enough they can be built.
