Question for those running with a Spohn torque arm!!
I need more traction and want to get Spohn's torque arm but not sure the best choice for front mount. Should I go with rod end or poly front mount? This car is a daily driver, noise is not a major concern but at the same time I don't want so much that I can't hear the passenger!! What would you guys recommend. Let me get comments from those who have one installed.
I have the poly mount. The sleeve is bigger than the bolt. I guess others don't have this problem. I can jiggle the torque arm quite a bit and it clunks alot from this jiggling. I'm going to switch to the rod end when the weather warms up.
get the poly for everyday driving...plus u wont have to replace it often like the spherical ones; plus they are noisier...poly will purdy much last a looooong time....100k+ miles. i dunno but i hate noise..cept exhaust..

Kinda hard to say if it made any improvement since I did a lot of mods at the same time. But with it and the LCA relocation brackets I have ZERO wheelhop.

The rod end version does transmit more noise in the form of vibration, you will feel a lot more with the rod end

After bolting a TA on my car, I'm ready to unbolt it after a few passes. I did not notice enough of a difference to justify the money. There are enough local guys running into the 11s and some deep into the 10s who are still on stock torque arms that it doesn't seem necessary.
Yes, they look pretty, too bad the BMR adjustable (trans mounted) is 8lbs heavier then stock and they still only rate it to 11.0.

Regarding the torque arm; your car is a daily driver, not a race only car, so poly bushing is the only sensible choice. Their is no benefit for you in going for rod ends, only potential draw-backs.
As some will point out, you don't NEED a new torque arm, but it WILL help you out. Look into the other mod's I've mentioned above, and check the condition of your shocks/struts/springs etc.
Best of luck! let us know what you end up doing and how it works out!

I run the rodend. Car gets about 12,000 miles per year. Only time vibrations are fellt is when I am raising the rpms in first gear above 5000- I do have a carbon fiber driveshaft though that does help dampen vibrations.

had the spohn LCA's with combo poly/rod ended and they were noisey. Sounded like tool box in the back with rattling tools. I think it was just due to a bad rod end or something. I only ran them for about 2 months before selling them to someone on here. Never heard if he had the same problem or not.

I also run a rod end 1st design Slider type tq arm from Spohn. Get some clanking, mainly I hear a big pop on all the hard shifts. Kind of like when you break a trans mount. Other than that I get a rattle once awhile but it isn't enough to annoy me. It has the tendency to freak out passengers though. They think something dropped off the car. I only see limited street use, so the rod end isn't that big of deal. If I have to shell out 20 bucks or whatever every 3 years or so, then I'm happy doing it.
Basically like stated it's not really worth running full out rod ends on everything if it's a everyday street car. You will get more road noise and have to replace them faster than poly mounts.

I have poly/rod end LCAs , poly padhard rod and poly tq arm that mounts to the trans cross member. The combo creaks a little over bumps. But the vibration under hard take off and speeds over 75 mph. is a worse problem. kind of like a buzzing But it's the price you pay for more performance.
