cuting springs

im thinking about cutting 1/2 to 1 coil of of my springs front and rear. have any of you done this? what do you think of it?

It works excellent, great mod. I cut off alot, about 1.5 dead coils in the rear and about 1.25 in the front. I can't really remember though, so start slow.

I used a cutoff wheel, and just let them air cool after they were cut. Some people bitch about keeping them cool while cutting them but thats pure , and make no metallurgical sense. But its not a good idea to cool or quench them with water after, bad stuff could happen. Not like really will though. I also heated the ends of the front with a propane torch and bent them flatter to make them originally.

I had some cut on my 3rd gen when I drove it in high school. I liked it. Worked well. gave it a nasty (intimidating) look too!!
