Engine: 305 V8 Currently being rebuilt
Transmission: 5 spd
Rear axle question.....
To put a fourth gen rear axle on a third gen (firebird) Dies the axle line up with everything or is there a binch of extra stuff I need aswell? Thanx for any info.

The fourth-gen rear end is a bolt-in. Since the fourth-gen rear end is wider, I doubt (but have no experience) that the axels themselves would swap into a third-gen.

{Edit} Let me edit this a bit. If you are referring to the "fourth gen rear axle" as the whole rearend, then yes, everything lines up and the rear will swap right in. You may have to work with the e-brake cable attaching points if it's an LS1 rear. The "axles" themselves won't work since the 4th gen rearend overall is wider. The distance from axle flange to diff is longer on the 4th gen rear so the axles won't just swap into a 3rd gen housing. The whole thing will bolt right in but will be wider overall.
