Im New and have 1 question

Hi there every one. im new to this site, and recently bought an 88 iroc camaro with a 350 tpi, with goal of 550 hp and to have it be a g machine. now ive been doing a lot of research already, but i want to know what you all think of spohn performance. i have looked over their website, and as far as i can tell, they have all the suspension and chassis stuff i need. i have just never heard of them and was wondering the feed back that you guys that have used their product have.

Seriously, though, they have the best suspension products, and the best rep of any Thirdgen vendor, anywhere.

thanks all. that is what i was hoping to hear. oh and one more question before i forget. what is the best springs to get that will lowering a 1-2 inches, and drastically improve cornering?

ebiach (sp?) seems to be the fav over the shelf spring setup. Then you will be getting into custom for your setup/style.

Spohn, so far all I have is their subframes, nice. I just got shipping notice of my torque arm :lala: Should be here wed.

Also check out unbalanced engineering, nice products too. More 4th-gen stuff, but some of it is the same.

I agree but would add that for handling get the Eibach Prokit rather than the Sportlines. It will be a nice improvement and even better with a good set of shocks. Anything more than that will require that you understand a lot about custom set ups in relation to your driving style etc. - so just get a Prokit and have fun.

You need some rake in the car. If you look at the cars with Sportlines the *** end sits too low and they tend to be a bit tail happy.

It's sort of general knowledge as well - like Crazy Hawiian says - he likes the look of the sportlines but prefers the feel of the prokit. Search around a bit, there's lots of posts.

There's a post listing the rates for aftermarket and stock springs. The prokit is around 715 linear front. The sportlines are a bit lower and the other after market springs are really low which = crap in my opinion.

I'm not an engineer but I run my car on long fast road courses and I talk to a lot of engineers at the track; their opinion is that you need some rake in the car; same with Global West, their spring kits have a lot of rake in them.

I think the Prokit is a really good off the shelf set of springs but I also think that I need closer to 800 lbs on the front as there is an uphill right hander on my local track which is like hitting a wall a 90 mph. Apart from that though, the car sits really tight on fast sweepers where I'm afraid to look at the tach/speedo but would estimate something around 80-90 mph.

For street/track I'm finding the Prokit to be a generally good package with Koni Yellows - you can probably do better but for off the shelf it's OK.

I thought they drop 1.6" F and 1.3" R.

I have one other question, what's a rake? -- couldn't figure out what you said there and you said the same thing in that other post.

Rake is the rear end sitting slightly higher.
