Cheap sticky tires!

can anyone reccommed a set of CHEAP tires that are good in the Dry and decent in the wet. Snow is not a factor. My car is now a second car and won't see much mileage although i don't want super low treadwear. I want mostly predictable dry traction and decent off the line traction.

Do you need a whole set for street driving or just a good pair for the rear?

Also, what size?

Kumho ecsta supra 712 can sometimes be had for $100 and its good all around, leaning more towards dry. Id recommend. Stay away from cooper mastercrafts and if you want to lay down a few more bucks then check KDWS.

the Kumho tires i have on my rear are garbage. spent 72 a piece. SUCKY TRACTION. dont bother with them. MY OPINION. i used them and tore through them. If u just drive with them then thats fine but if you are going for the launch, dont bother. They dont even get sticky. I had goodyear tires on there b4 and they would chirp hard but ever since these tires, 2nd and 3rd gear spin into shifts. I am now shopping for new rear tires now and note that i am not buying these tires again. I do alot of launching so .... but these tires suck. dont bother with them unless they are just for regular driving around

fst2qtrmile did you have supras? or asx? The 712 and mx are pretty decent tires considering they cost around $100. I would say if your on a budget get those or fuzions.

I love my Bridgestone Re730's. When I bought them ('02), I paid about $120 each. That's not exactly cheap, but I believed they were the best bang for the buck. I read a lot of posts of TGO and found many good reviews and recommendations.

Bridgestone has superceded them with the RE750 tires.

Sticky? I can tell that my street has more dust/sand/silt on it than the next street just by listening to the tires. They have good launch traction on street, but I only have a 305 under my hood.

I'm not a big fan of them in rain, but wide tires are more prone to hydroplaning anyways.

I love the kumho 712's, but cheap and sticky is a oxymoron. I have autocrossed on the 712's and they for sure dont stick as good as my slicks.

You auto-x'd on supra 712s? What size tire? I had them in 245/50R16 and they were pretty sloppy tires, but I can't complain, I got them installed and out the door for $380.

Now I have some vette 17x8.5 and 18x9.5 rims with 245/45r17 and 275/40r18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS EMT run-flats, and I can't wait to feel the difference once I get off my 225/60R16 snow tires
