Anyone running 18x10 rear and 18x9 fronts??

Hello all,

I bought some 18x9 and 18x10 ROH R/Ts for my 89 bird. The guys at Group A said that I can fit 295/35 rear tires and 275/35 fronts. I like the idea of the 295s but I'm thinking 255 for the front. Anyway I wanna know if anybody is running something close to these widths and if there are any problems with an un-lowered car?

alot of people are running 275/40/17s on the front.. i dont think it would take much to squeeze an 275/35/18 in there just depends on the wheel spacin

275/35R18 is *slightly* smaller than 275/40R17, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanx for the replies but I don't plan to run 275's on the front probably 245's or maybe 255's. My concern is with the rear. I have seen 285x35x18's fit but not 295. I wonder will they fit without lip mods?? Maybe I'll go 285, I mean it's onlt 10mm diff, right!!

Thanx

Oh whats your thought on tires?

Wish I had that much money to spend on tires The rims I got came with the stock vette F1 GS EMT runflats. Haven't driven on them yet. They should last me through the summer I'm hoping as there isn't a ton of tread on them. Not sure what I'll go to after that...definitely something non-EMT for price reasons. With a bit of the money I save on the tires, I'll register with AAA.

I was looking cheap like Kumho MX's. I've heard good things about them. Wasn't the happiest person with my 712's though. I guess it depends how much I like these F1 GS's as to how much I'm willing to spend on tires next.

I've heard VERY good things about those Supercar tires though

With the right size/offset wheel you can actually fit a wider tire in the front more easily then in the rear. There are autoxers and road racers running 315 35 17’s on all fours successfully.

you could get a 255/40 that would probably be a good choice.
Do you have any pics of those wheels on the car or just siting there? I have the RTs in 17x9 and I am thinking about selling them to go to 18s I would really like to see all the pics you get/have. thanks
