4th gen coils vs. 3rd gen?
yo...do you guys know if the 4th gen coil spring rates are higher than the 3rd gen ones? i've heard the WS6 rears are stiffer than the 3rd gen ones and that they'll interchange...with the same ride height...true?

The stock rates are all over this board. The stiffest of the 3rdgens are about 204lbs/in in the rear.

If you are looking at installing used springs, late model rear forth gen z28/SS/WS6/Firehawk springs are a good idea. Check local boards for 99-02 springs of those models. They will be less than a decade old, and probably lower mileage. Try to find someone that swap their springs for aftermarket, you can usually score a >20k mile pair for $20.

Who in his right mind would put used stock springs on a car, no matter what they came off of?
Do you go to the junkyard to get plug wires? After all, the cars in there, were running and driving when they got wrecked; so the plug wires should be good, right?
NEW springs (such as Moog CC635) are about $60. Why screw around with used stock ones, when new ones are so cheap?

I got a few sets of 4th gen Z28 springs from SLP a couple years ago for 15 bucks a pair. Sure that were used, but only for about 2 miles.
Personally, I think it's easier to tune the rear suspension spring rate with Airlift air bags than dicking around with different springs.
