Pics from rear of car..

Wondering if anybody had pics from the rear of thier car . I'm debating on a set of 15x8 or 15x10 draglites with 5 1/5 backspacing. Would like to see any pics if anybody has them.

I have lots of pics on my website of Weld Draglites that are 15x10 with 5.5" backspace but none are from the rear. It's also going to depend what size tire you want to run on them. I've run as small as a 28x9 slick and now use 29.9x10.5 slicks on the same rims.

Hey manThanks!! thats just what I needed!! Ive got 15x8 with 3.5 bs and I hate it. stick out WAY too much. I running 26x10.5 MT now. I want to ran at least a 28" tall tire, with these rims it will hit the fender lip and look even worse from the rear to me. Was that last picture the 15x10 wheels? Might just be the angle but it looks like they stick out a bit further.

Anybody else got any pics??

You know, I’ve started saying this before and from seeing these pictures I’m convinced that you actually have 15x8, 4.5” backspacing wheels, not 5.5”, especially considering that 15x10’s with 5.5” backspacing spaces the tires/wheels the same (basically an 1” wider in both directions so adding an inch in backspacing puts the wheel/tire in the same place)

Maybe that 25mm offset is making them seem like a 4.5" bs? I don't know anything about offsets and backspacings, I'm just throwing out an idea.

And things get even weirder… offset and backspacing are related, if you know the wheel size and backspacing you should be able to calculate offset and vice versa. A 15x8 with 5.5” backspacing should have about a 25.4mm offset, so that’s right. Are you saying that you measured from the hub surface to the inside lip and got 5.5”? If so then the wheel is what it says on the box… and that ends up being REALLY weird because that should put the wheels tucked in further then they are.

Does this car have a stock axle assembly in it? what brakes?

For a point of reference, I’ve posted this pic before:

This is a wider tire on a 0 offset rim, which basically means that it should be a full 1” out farther on each side then yours, and it isn’t (the tires roughly ended right at the wheel wells, didn’t actually make it out past the lip).

It’s too bad you’re not local, because I’d love to do some measuring and figure out what is going on.

i just got done mesuring them yesterday i had too take a wheel off beacuse i am putting new brake lines in and mesured like you are supposed to do from the hub to the lip and got 5.5 inches and i have the stock spacer on it when it is on it dont rub or hit the wheel well but when it is off it really rubs all the way around i have stock drum brakes and axels.

Now that’s much more like what I expected from a 8” wheel with 5.5” backspacing. Did you have any issues with them hitting on the inside?

Steve, I can’t make any sense of what you’re showing + describing… something is up and I don’t know what.

They’re advertised as being 15x7 with a 1/2” offset, but since I’ve never measured a set just took a tape measure to a set of firebird rims (the “high tech style that look somewhat like the 16’s) that I have in the garage with some 275 60 15 DR’s on it. I got:
Section width: 10-3/4”
Sidewall to wheel lip: 1-7/16”
Sidewall to hub surface: 5-3/4”

Doing some math, that works out to be:
Rim width: 6.875” (assuming the normal ½” thickness rim edges)
Backspacing: 4.3125”
Offset: .375” in

Huh, that’s not that close to what they’re supposed to be… I’ve got some different 15’s and at least one set of 16’s sitting around… gonna start doing some measuring…

Theres tons of room with the QTP's. The 28x10.5 ET Drags hit the front of the wheel well due to height, width wise they had a ton of room. Keep in mind a 28x10.5 ET Drag is consideribly wider than a 27x10.5 Hoosier QTP

Do you have an passes on the QTP’s? How do you like them/what kinds of times (60’s and otherwise) have you run on them?

I’ve been thinking of running the same tires on my car since it would be a nice fit on my lowered car…

These 26x10.5 MT look like doughnuts on my car. Although they have pulled 1.65 60' so the QTp's had alot of clearance compared to the 28" MT's . Its funny how you can look at 2 tires, same size different makers and they be .3 or .4 inches different. I took a tape measure to the MT while on the car. 11psi and they only look to be 24"'s tall.
